We built The Root to feel like nothing else in the Cowichan Valley — warm plaster walls, natural wood, linen textures, and living plants. That same space is available to you after hours, every evening from 6 to 9 PM. Bring your own event and we will hold the space for it.

The Centre
Our dedicated wellness and education space — 484 sq ft of warm, intimate room designed for gatherings that need focus. Natural light, a fully flexible layout, and the quiet energy of a space built to hold good things. Whether you are setting up chairs for a talk, mats for a yoga class, or a circle for a facilitated workshop, the room adapts to you. Seats up to 30 guests.
The Root Cafe + Patio
The full cafe floor plus our large outdoor patio — 1,384 sq ft of warm wood, natural textures, and a space that feels nothing like a hired venue. Think candlelight, organic food, and an atmosphere that does half the work for you. Whether you are hosting a seated dinner, a celebration, or a casual reception that spills outside, this is a room that makes people feel at ease the moment they walk in. Seats up to 50 for a dinner, or up to 60 for a standing reception.
Full Venue Hire
Both spaces together — 1,868 sq ft of cafe, patio, and centre all yours for the evening. For events that need room to breathe and flow between moments: a talk or workshop in the centre, dinner in the café, drinks on the patio. Seats up to 50 for a dinner or up to 80 for a standing reception. Available Monday to Sunday from 6 to 9 PM.

Our kitchen is available for every space hire. Organic, plant-based, made from scratch — grazing tables, plated dinners, juice and tea stations. Ask us when you inquire.
