A 4-week journey back to your roots: reconnecting with ancestral food wisdom as a path toward real, lasting health.

CLASSES: OCT 7, 14, 21 & 28

LET'S TALK ABOUT THISColonization has touched all of us
For generations, people lived close to the land and the seasons: growing food where they stood, preserving it through the winter, and passing that knowledge down through their elders.
Colonization changed that, everywhere. Indigenous peoples across the world, the Māori of New Zealand, Aboriginal peoples of Australia, First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples across Canada and the United States, and so many others, endured the loss of their lands, their languages, and their people. Many of us no longer have elders left to teach us how our ancestors ate, foraged, and healed, and that same history reshaped our medical, political, and education systems too.
But the damage that was done can be undone. Decolonizing doesn't start with a system, it starts with a plate, a lifestyle, and a return to the basics. And that return can start with you.
— THIS PROGRAM IS FOR YOU IFYou're ready to question the story you've been told
You or someone you love has been living with one or more chronic conditions, and despite your best efforts, the symptoms persist
You know food matters, but you don't know where to start, or whose advice to actually trust.
You understand that the vast majority of chronic disease is not genetic, it's shaped by the food, systems, and stories we've inherited.
And you know, deeply, that your health is not caused by your ethnicity or your ancestry. That story was never true, and you don't have to carry it anymore.
— WHAT THIS JOURNEY HOLDSIn this 4-week workshop, you will...
Question the Old Story
Understand how the systems around food and health were built, and why so much of what you've been told doesn't tell the whole truth.
Reconnect With Your Roots
Explore how traditional, ancestral foods, wherever your lineage comes from, carry real wisdom for how your body was built to eat.
Reclaim Your Health
Learn the strategies that help calm chronic inflammation, so your body finally gets the chance to heal the way it was designed to.
Build a Sustainable Lifestyle
Learn a lifestyle medicine and achieve lasting health, and how to work with your doctor to safely reduce medication as your numbers improve, so this becomes a way of living, not another short-term plan.
Connect with People who Understand
Make new friends with shared values grounded in traditional knowledge and the latest research. It’s time to stop blaming the patient and start the true journey of reconciliation, healing, and eradicating the disproportionate rates of chronic disease in our nations.
Discover Real Results
Hear real stories from people who have embraced a root-cause approach to their health and made meaningful changes in the face of chronic conditions they were once told they would have to live with permanently.
REAL PEOPLE, REAL RESULTSWhat our clients are saying.
“I started implementing the lifestyle change immediately and my health started to turn around almost instantly. I have suffered from high blood pressure for 5 years now, after applying the Eat Real to Heal diet, my blood pressure returned to normal in less than 2 weeks! I can’t wait to see what happens next. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!”
— Karen, HBP"Now 8 weeks in. Just had my first medical update yesterday. After 8 weeks, pre-diabetes was gone, blood pressure from 150-160 most days down to 116 average, cholesterol back to normal, fatty liver disease reduced, and from 285 to 246 weight. My knees are better, foggy brain is gone. I will now restart this journey from day one, with my best friend who has just come out of stage 4 cancer surgery. I have made it my mission to bring this program to him and help him accelerate the healing process with food. Life happens for a reason and this program has landed in my lap at possibly the greatest time for him. Here to restarting the program to save another. If you fall off the path, get back on again and keep going. There is no failure, just road bumps to get around. Food can heal the body."
— CARLO, Pre-Diabetes, Brain Fog, Fatty Liver, HBP"I have healed so many incurable disorders that I have had (some my whole life) that it’s unbelievable. From 3 blood/bleeding disorders, no more dislocations, low thyroid gone, severe gastroparesis gone, fibrocystic breast disease gone, fibroids gone, gum disease gone, Raynauds gone, anxiety and depression gone, herpes gone, food sensitives gone… there are about 40 things that have either gone or improved, it’s amazing! Anyway, I just wanted to share this with you Nicolette, as you were one of the reasons that I embarked on this natural healing journey."

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTORDr. Nicolette Richer, DSocSci
Nicolette is a Chronic Disease Reversal Specialist, serial entrepreneur, author, speaker, and podcast host, with an insatiable drive to learn, educate, and change the world. She is the creator of the Eat Real to Heal™ framework. Over the past 18 years, she’s helped thousands of people reverse their diagnosed chronic diseases using metabolic nutrition detoxification, and cellular regeneration.
After seven years of doctoral research on health disparities in BIPOC communities, Nicolette knew she needed to build something that helped people understand how history and systems shape our health, not just individual choices. So she created Decolonizing Your Plate, a provocative and results-driven program to ripple the findings and solutions into the world - one individual at a time.
Today, as Programs Director at The Root, she's bringing this work in person, teaching people how to reclaim their health by reconnecting with the food wisdom that was always theirs.
